Sydney Australia. Today, venture builder and investor Black Nova Group announced it’s taken an equity stake in Me Squared, a health tech startup that has its sights set on disrupting the $50 billion corporate wellness industry.

When asked about the deal he said “As a venture builder we’re going to work closely with the Me Squared team to take their core technology and scale it onto the global playing field. Our vision is to help the greatest number of people in their daily lives where there’s a clear commercial case to do so – corporate wellness”.

Empowering People to Use Their Personal Health Data

Me squared is an application that combines both technology with cognitive behavioural therapy, delivering a personalised and holistic health coaching experience to the user.

It’s core technology is designed to log, track and uncover a person’s health habits, collecting nutrition, exercise and general health data. Once the technology understands it’s user it’s able to deliver smart messages which are personalised to the user’s experience. For example, if you are worried about your family history of diabetes the app will track your sugar consumption, notify you when daily limits are higher than normal and provide substitute foods to help you stay on track.

Scientific advisor Prof. Ralf Schwarzer commented, “we realised we can really help people develop a sense of self efficacy. We achieve this by combining positive reinforcement with accountability and intelligently timed triggers which are all personalised to the user’s needs.
